Portrait by Alexander Hoyles
Rabbet is a family business run by Katie Lundie and Isobel Neviazsky and occasionally helped by our kids.
We decided to open Rabbet after finding out that the picture framers that Isobel worked at was closing down. Having acquired over 5 years of experience as a picture framer it seemed a shame to give up on the skill, so we set about finding our own premises, which led us to an old barbershop on Pollokshaws Road. We began renovating and started to unearth some original features which we tried to sympathetically restore as much as possible with some design nods to this photo we found of the shop from 1936.
As practicing artists who live in the Southside we saw a gap in the market to have a shop that sells a wide range of artists materials and have enjoyed curating a selection of beautiful art supplies that we love.
